Where did you grow up?
I am from Upstate New York, in the small city of Glens Falls, near Lake George.
What was your first job?
Delivering newspapers in the morning before school.
What’s your history in the moving and storage industry?
I left Digital Equipment Corporation in 1990 to buy my neighbor’s moving business: Marlboro Transportation. Mark’s Moving & Storage acquired us in 2006.
Favorite part of the job?
I look at my job as problem solving — understanding the needs of the customer and devising the most effective solution.
How do you spend your time when not working?
I play and coach Pickleball, a racquet sport similar to tennis, but on a much smaller court. I also do landscaping projects at my Cape Cod cottage and woodworking.
What sports teams do you root for?
The Patriots and Bruins are my favorite local teams.
What motivates you?
The opportunity to help people with our resources to accomplish a task that they could not do well themselves.
Favorite food?
Salmon, trout, oysters, lobster, and BLTs with my garden’s tomatoes!
Favorite book or movie?
I enjoy historical fiction, murder mysteries and biographies of colonial leaders. My favorite movies are The Last of the Mohicans, which is based on events from where I grew up, and Master and Commander, based on a series of 19 novels about a British Navy Captain.
What would your friends say is your best quality?
I listen.
