Mark’s Moving & Storage will again provide free moving and storage services for the Jewish Family & Children’s Services, a Waltham-based non-profit organization helping people of all faiths who are experiencing hardship, such as financial crisis, hunger and domestic abuse.
Mark’s Moving donated its services throughout 2017 to the JF&CS Center for Basic Needs Assistance and has renewed its commitment for 2018.
The Center for Basic Needs Assistance is an integrated and comprehensive program that addresses issues most commonly facing people with low income. Mark’s Moving will donate up to $10,000 in services, support that will help JF&CS alleviate the costs incurred when helping clients move and make critical funds available to benefit clients in other ways.
JF&CS has helped those in homeless shelters move to permanent housing and survivors of domestic abuse move to homes away from the abuser, among others. The organization has also stored the possessions of someone who was evicted and then moved those items to new housing.
“We’re excited to help create even more success stories,” said Mark Silverman, president and CEO of Mark’s Moving & Storage. “JF&CS provides invaluable services to our communities and we’re proud to be a part of the effort.”
With an integrated network of more than 40 programs serving communities throughout eastern and central Massachusetts, JF&CS helps people of all faiths and backgrounds meet life’s challenges. Visit www.jfcsboston.org for more information.
